Abstract

Architect Gerardo Caballero has been carrying out, without interruption, the task of completing with drawings more than three hundred books and notebooks for over thirty years. Through this constant practice his sketches have been registering adventures, observations, measurements, architectural work notes, visited landscapes as well as analogical constructions of many ideas used for projects: from their genesis to their realization. In this conversation the architect reveals how he acquired this still-ongoing practice, the role it played during his training, when he performs it and how he selects techniques and media. At the same time, he individualizes referents highlighting not only the value of those architects dealing with context but also the importance of observation for this kind of practice.

Gerardo Caballero

Arquitecto (1982, UNR). Master de Arquitectura en Washington University, Saint Louis (1986). En 1988 establece su práctica profesional en Rosario. Es miembro Fundador del Grupo R. Profesor invitado y Conferencista en universidades de Estados Unidos, Europa y Sur América. En 2012 recibió el Premio Konex, entre otras distinciones. Ver http:// www.gerardocaballero.com

Martín Cabezudo, Universidad Nacional de Rosario, Argentina

Arquitecto (2006, UNR). Desde 2007 integra el Estudio Arzubialde, sus obras han sido reconocidas y publicadas en numerosos medios de Argentina y Latinoamérica. Desde 2010 es docente de Expresión Gráfica en la cátedra Pistone de la FAPyD. Integra el equipo técnico de la Secretaría de Planeamiento, Municipalidad de Rosario.
