Abstract

National Institute (of Caballito) -set in this neighborhood of Buenos Aires- was the result of an innovative experience carried out by the great educator Pablo A. Pizzurno. Together with other important pedagogues -among them Enrique Romero Brest-, he established a Model Institute: a space intended to be public from its very beginning though it became finally private. It embodied the starting point for important projects and reforms. A space from the past gave rise to a meaningful horizon towards the future. It functioned as an educational laboratory where advanced ideas were put into practice.

Verónica Andrea Toranzo, Independiente, Argentina

Magister en Educación con orientación en gestión educativa (Universidad de San Andrés), Diseñadora Gráfica (UBA). Profesora de Educación Física (ISEF Nº1 ¨Dr. Enrique Romero Brest) en diferentes niveles educativos, actualmente en el ISEF Nº1, cátedra ¨Práctica de la Enseñanza en el Nivel Primario¨. Es autora de artículos publicados en medios nacionales e internacionales, y del libro Arquitectura y Pedagogía. Los espacios diseñados para el movimiento, NOBUKO, 2009. Visitó escuelas en diferentes países. Realiza investigaciones en el área de la arquitectura escolar/espacios escolares. La investigación presentada se inició como parte de la tesis de doctorado FADU-UBA, en cotutela con la Universidad de Montpellier III, Francia.
