Abstract

In this article we deal with some features of Puna de Atacama pastoral landscapes taking Susques -which is located in the province of Jujuy- as a case study. The role played by mobility patterns when defining places which are meaningful for domestic groups and their own constitution over time is analyzed. These landscapes do not have a passive character; they are in a constant process of shaping and reshaping. Thus, they become active actors in the life of people. The following briefly-presented material is the result of the fieldwork carried out in Susques since 2004; it has been focused on the study of pastoral spatiality.
