Saskia Sassen’s career is both prolific and relevant. Her production becomes an inevitable means of consultation for the study and comprehension of the underlying phenomena and logics expressed in our cities and societies from the end of the last century to the present. We cannot fail to mention some books such as The global city: New York, London and Tokyo (published in English in 1991 and in Spanish in 1999), The specters of globalization (2003), Immigrants and citizens of the massive migrations to fortress Europe (2013), and the most recent ones, Territory, authority and rights of medieval assemblages to global assemblages (2008), and Expulsions, brutality and complexity in the global economy (2014). The interview had been intended to be carried out in New York City but later it was virtually concreted from London. It was a unique opportunity to know her opinion about some questions posed by the current health crisis, a new and unexpected expression of globality on which she has conceptualized so much.
