Abstract


Contemporaneity may boast of a veiled vanity: it is a continuously evolving present. From this conceptual framework, in some way, past and future merge into mere present. The global multilayered contemporaneous age in which we are imbedded is mainly characterized by the progressive knowledge fragmentation of the world in which we live. Mankind experiences a growth that goes beyond the boundary historically drawn by nature enhancing the uncertainty of its own existence in the environment where it develops. This is the setting in which the Nature Reserve of Granadero Baigorria is founded as a consequence of architect Jorge Scrimaglio’s thinking when protecting the place chosen years before for his own house project. This occurs in a time in which architecture is unable to attain harmony between changing and permanent factors of reality. It fails to recognize not only the character of reality but also its metaphysical value: the moral strength of spirit.

Author Biographies

Jorge Scrimaglio, Independiente

Arquitecto (Escuela de Arquitectura, Facultad de Ciencias Matemáticas, Físicas y Naturales aplicadas a la Industria, UNL). Desempeña por tres años consecutivos hasta su graduación, el cargo de docente instructor en el Taller de Arquitectura de César Benetti Aprosio. Concurre al curso de verano dado por Eduardo Sacriste en la Universidad de Tucumán. Es invitado por Enrico Tedeschi para dar cursos en la Facultad de Arquitectura de Mendoza, en carácter de profesor contratado. Su obra es un aporte a la arquitectura del medio. Autor del diseño de mobiliarios, emblemas, publicaciones y miembro fundador de la “Reserva Natural Playa Granadero Baigorria”, ha recibido premios y reconocimientos por su labor fecunda, siendo en 2014 declarado Arquitecto Distinguido por el Concejo Municipal de Rosario.

Ignacio Almeyda, Independiente

Arquitecto (FAPyD-UNR). Colaborador del arquitecto Jorge Scrimaglio desde el 2004. Desarrolla el relevamiento gráfico y fotográfico de su obra y participa en concursos, publicaciones, exposiciones y conferencias. Dibujante, docente, diseñador gráfico y de mobiliarios, es escenógrafo y operador técnico del grupo de teatro independiente “Centro Experimental Rosario Imagina”.
